State Library of Maine
The State Library of Maine contains a genealogy collection that spans a large geographical area. It emphasizes Maine, of course, but also provides good coverage for Massachusetts and New Hampshire, along with many titles for the rest of New England and other northeastern states. In addition, the Library houses a growing collection of materials relating to Quebec Province and the Maritimes.
Among their vast collection you can find vital records, cemetery records and epitaphs, early church records, wills, deeds, general court and probate, town and province records, Maine census thru 1850 and census indexes for other New England states, and pension lists, military rosters, regimental histories, among others.
